Mock Duck

Mock Duck
My first experience of mock-meat was some years ago, on a flight to Hong Kong - what a revelation. I have since used the product in both my Asian and Western style cooking. I always have a tin in the cupboard ready to rustle up a meal for unexpected guests!

This mock ‘duck’ meat comes in a stock. You can either drain the meat and discard the stock or use it as a base for soups and sauces. I have done both. I have found the stock is good for diluting some of the stir-fry sauces which (for me) are rather thick and overpowering and it makes a good base for a simple noodle soup.

The mock duck is versatile – it can be stir-fried, braised, roasted or poached.

It has a mild taste which is will not overpower other ingredients in your dish.

If you want a stronger tasting mock meat try the mock pork which we also stock.
